Emily NormanI was born in Grapevine and lived in Hurst for 8 years prior to moving to central Wisconsin. While living in Wisconsin, I began playing volleyball at the age of 9. I have experience playing most positions; however, my two main positions were outside hitter and defensive specialist. I played four years of high school volleyball for Newman Catholic High School where I was team captain and helped lead my team to a state championship in 2013; a first in our school’s history. Other accolades I hold include 2012 state runner-up, 2011 state qualifier, a Marawood South All-Conference Honorable Mention, Scholar Athlete, and selected for the 2011 USA Volleyball High Performance Camp in Colorado Springs where I spent a week playing with some of the nation’s best players. I played club volleyball for four years with Wisconsin Ice Volleyball Club and one year with Wisconsin Volleyball Academy. I have experience coaching various middle and high school summer league teams, sand volleyball clinics, and specialty clinics.
Outside of volleyball, I recently moved back to the Dallas area with my fiancé, and we will be tying the knot in August in Milwaukee, WI! I graduated with my Masters in pediatric nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA and have accepted a nursing job with the Dallas ISD. A few fun facts about me are that I have a 10-year-old husky named Kora, speak Spanish, love indoor cycling, and have a passion for traveling the world. I am so excited for the opportunity to become a part of the SLAM family and to share my passion for the sport of volleyball with my team! |
