Shelbey DeemerChandler Atwood is a former Division I athlete and experienced volleyball coach with a deep-rooted passion for the game and player development. With nine years of playing experience and four years of collegiate competition at Texas Tech University, Chandler brings both high-level skill and a strong foundation in mentorship to every coaching opportunity.
During her time at Texas Tech, Chandler contributed to the program as a consistent offensive force, finishing her career with 764 kills and 147 blocks. She was also recognized for her academic dedication, earning Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In addition to her collegiate play, she spent four summers helping run youth volleyball camps for athletes ages 12 to 18, and has continued to coach through private and semi-private training sessions, focusing on individual growth and skill refinement. Before college, Chandler was a standout at Allen High School in Texas, where she was named to the TGCA 6A All-State Team in both 2014 and 2015. She earned the title of 6-6A Offensive MVP and was a three-time All-District selection. Academically accomplished as well, she received Academic All-District honors in 2014. She graduated with an impressive high school stat line: 1,087 kills, 366 digs, and 211 blocks. Chandler credits volleyball with providing her not only competitive opportunities but also invaluable life experiences and lessons. As a coach, she’s passionate about giving back to the sport that shaped her, helping young athletes build confidence, improve their skills, and embrace the values of teamwork and perseverance. |
