Jada TaylorJada Taylor is a dedicated and passionate volleyball coach with over 16 years of competitive playing experience and a strong background in player development, leadership, and mentorship. A native of Chicago, IL and eventually moved to the Austin area in her early years, Jada grew up immersed in the sport, playing all positions but eventually specializing as an outside hitter and defensive specialist before transitioning into a full-time Libero in her 18’s year of club volleyball.
Her coaching journey began early, volunteering at summer camps and programs while still playing at her local clubs during high school. This passion for mentoring younger athletes continued into college, where she served as a player’s coach at skills camps and training clinics. As a collegiate athlete, Jada began her career at Grambling State University, where she was awarded a full athletic scholarship as a Libero. During her time there, she led the SWAC in digs for two consecutive years, earned SWAC Libero of the Year honors, and was named to both the SWAC All-First Team and All-Tournament Team in 2021. Her performance also earned her a national ranking, placing 24th in the nation for digs in 2022. In her Junior year, Jada transferred to Florida A&M University (FAMU), where she closed out her playing career with a standout season. She was named Pre-Season Libero of the Year in 2022 and played a critical role in leading her team to a SWAC Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division I Volleyball Tournament. Throughout her career—from Austin Juniors Volleyball Club to the NCAA stage—Jada has consistently demonstrated elite defensive skills, leadership on and off the court, and an unwavering commitment to team success. After completing her final collegiate season, Jada stepped into a coaching role at FAMU DRS in Tallahassee, Florida, where she served as the Varsity Assistant Coach from 2022 to 2024. During her tenure, she helped design and implement structured practice plans, developed individualized training regimens, and played a key role in fostering a competitive and supportive team culture. Her transition from accomplished athlete to impactful coach reflects her deep love for the game and dedication to developing the next generation of players. |
